About the Retreat
Tipi Village Retreat is a haven away from the ordinary. Located in the Willamette Valley near Eugene, Oregon ,Tipi Village Retreat is perfectly positioned for adventure. There are beautiful day-trip destinations to the North, East, West, or South — may they be on two or four wheels. With its secluded woodland setting, its unusual mix of dwellings (tipis, cabins, and one master bedroom*), and its German hospitality - it provides an ideal setting for group retreats, family reunions, weddings, and other overnight events. It's a great place for any adventurous traveler wanting a unique lodging experience.
The tipis (or teepees) have beautiful floors and rugs, comfy beds with down comforters and wool blankets. For a more traditional sleeping experience, there is a cabin or the master bedroom. All tipis and cabins have access to a centrally located bath house with two full bathrooms.
Meals are served either by the creek or on the patio. Your stay includes a wholesome gourmet breakfast of organic free-range eggs (from our own chickens), smoked salmon, breads, granola or muesli, fresh fruit, milk, yoghurt or soy drink, orange juice, coffee and tea. Dinners are typically group events with everyone participating - or you can cook your own in our outdoor facility. Ken has cooked up some amazing feasts in this outdoor kitchen: Spanish Paellas, perfect for groups of 8 – 12, or grilled seafood, lamb or chicken with vegetables, rice, bread and organic mixed greens from the garden for smaller groups. Bring your own wine and beer, we'll have openers and glasses. - Dinners can also be catered by request.
Time takes on a different meaning here. You feel yourself relax into a slower pace – into the here and now of birds singing and water flowing. You will experience nature’s silence and stillness. You will find an atmosphere of respect amongst these tall trees. Respect for the Land, the Keepers of the Land, and for Mother Nature.
*Coming in 2009: The Master Bedroom is spacious and comfortable with a queen-size bed and its own full bath. Located in the southeast corner of the main house, it has French doors out to the patio closest to the creek. The water will sing you to sleep at night.
“It is a paradise, a sanctuary for the soul.” (Mireille Pertusot, August 2007)
“Sleeping in the tipi under that hide was so much fun, the paella was amazing, and I know that the children were nothing less than enchanted by the paths through the woods... hearing about your place was what made my older daughter decide to come with us that weekend – so I had her there for my marathon, thanks to you!” (Ona, with Eamon, Sophie and Maeve, May 2008)
